Format Launches “Terms & Conditions”

Website builder Format debuted Terms & Conditions, a photo project that discusses the persisting issue of gendered censorship on social media.

With contributions from 49 photographers ranging in age, location, practice and gender, the collection of photographs celebrates the uncensored female form—specifically, the female nipple, which has been increasingly prohibited in community guidelines.

Urging for uniform representation of the human body on social media in support of gender equality, Harley Weir, Michael Bailey-Gates, Richie Shazam, Mayan Toledano, Cameron Lee Phan, and David Uzochukwu, alongside distinguished members of the Format community, each comment on how censorship regulations conflict with their values and inhibit their creative liberty.
